Keeping Tudor City Clean: Addressing the Recent Graffiti Issue

Graffiti on the 42nd Street Bridge

Our neighborhood has recently been impacted by an increase in graffiti, affecting both public spaces and private buildings. Among the most affected areas are the 42nd Street Bridge and its underpass, which have become targets for vandalism. In response, the Tudor City Association (TCA), alongside Tudor City Greens and affected building boards, has taken swift action to address the issue and restore the beauty of our community.

A Coordinated Cleanup Effort

TCA is actively communicating with city agencies to coordinate the removal of graffiti from public areas. This cleanup effort is scheduled for the spring when temperatures rise above 50°F, allowing for more effective removal. While the city is assisting with public spaces, private buildings will need to manage graffiti removal at their own expense. Building boards are already planning their respective cleanups to ensure a cohesive effort across Tudor City.

Maintaining Vigilance

Preventing future graffiti is just as important as removing existing tags. Community members are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help deter further vandalism. By working together, we can protect the character of Tudor City and discourage acts of defacement.

A United Effort for a Cleaner Community

Tudor City has long been known for its charm and well-maintained environment. Through coordinated action, resident involvement, and city support, we will ensure that our neighborhood remains a beautiful and welcoming place for all.
